American Medical Association

Since 1847, the American Medical Association has promoted scientific advancement, improved public health, and invested in the doctor and patient relationship. Their mission is to promote the art and science of medicine and the betterment of public health. The American Medical Association helps doctors help patients by uniting physicians nationwide to work on the most important professional and public health issues. 

The American Medical Association policy on issues in medicine and public health is decided through its democratic policy-making process in the House of Delegates. The House of Delegates consists of representation from every state and medical society, a solid base of physician members, a thriving advocacy influence, the most revered journals and resources in medicine, and respected practice tools.

The American Medical Association believes that there is a national imperative to chart a successful course for health care delivery that will improve the health of the nation.
