The Australian Private Hospitals Association (APHA) was formed in June 1981 as the peak national body representing private hospital interests in Australia. APHA aims to ensure that all Australians are empowered with personal choice and rapid access to affordable hospital care of the highest quality.

APHA promotes and protects the interests of private hospitals, their owners and operators, and to proactively interact with members. They aim to ensure private health care continues to be dynamic in meeting the ever-changing needs of the Australian community.
