Oliver Healthcare Packaging acquires EK-Pack
Oliver Healthcare Packaging has acquired EK-Pack Folien, in what has been welcomed as a boost for pharma production flexibility and scale. The acquisition includes Vacopack H. Buchegger AG, a fully owned subsidiary of EK-Pack.
Healthcare packaging solutions
Oliver Healthcare Packaging supplies of sterile packaging solutions to the global healthcare industry. Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the company has bases across the US, as well as in Ireland, the Netherlands, China and Singapore.
EK-Pack Folien GmbH is based in Bavaria, Germany, and manufactures film and foil used for packaging. Vacopack H. Buchegger meanwhile is based in northeastern Switzerland and specialises in bag packaging production.
In the agreement, Oliver Healthcare Packaging will acquire:
- 23,000 square metres of manufacturing space across the EK-Pack facility
- Eight production lines for the manufacturing of multi-layer film and foil laminations
- 5,150 square metres of manufacturing space in the Vacopack facility
- Bag packaging production equipment
Now, Oliver Healthcare Packaging aims to regionalise its supply chain and add more converting equipment. The company will also invest in new automation technologies to elevate packaging to a greater level of efficiency.
