Could J&J Hit US$100bn Annual Revenue for the First Time?

With more than 140,000 employees across over 60 countries, Johnson & Johnson is one of the world's largest and most influential pharmaceutical companies.
Its Q2 2026 results reinforced that standing, reflecting continued momentum across its Innovative Medicine and MedTech businesses and reinforcing its position at the forefront of pharmaceutical development.
Reported quarterly sales growth rose 6.6% to US$25.3bn, a figure that puts Johnson & Johnson on track to reach the historic revenue milestone of US$100bn for the first time.
The company’s 2026 annual sales guidance now sits at US$101.1bn, up from US$100.8bn previously.
“Our second-quarter performance underscores the breadth and depth of Johnson & Johnson’s portfolio,” says Joseph Wolk, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Johnson & Johnson.
“With leading in-market brands, meaningful new products, a robust pipeline and strong financial flexibility, we are well-positioned to invest in transformative innovation to accelerate growth and create sustainable long-term value for shareholders.”
Innovation leads the way
Johnson & Johnson’s sales figures are impressive, but the Q2 results also demonstrate the strength of the organisation’s innovation-led portfolio.
Its Innovative Medicine business was a standout performer in Q2, achieving US$16.4bn in worldwide sales and a 6.8% growth in operational sales.
The Innovative Medicine department covers the development and commercialisation of novel Oncology, Neuroscience and Immunology treatments.
In Oncology, Johnson & Johnson reported Phase 3 results in high-risk localised prostate cancer, advanced treatments for lung cancer and multiple myeloma and strengthened its next-generation pipeline through a strategic acquisition.
The company also expanded Immunology treatment options for psoriatic arthritis and paediatric Crohn's disease, and secured FDA approval for schizophrenia relapse prevention in its Neuroscience portfolio.
Discussing the results on LinkedIn, Jennifer Taubert, Executive Vice President and Worldwide Chairman of Innovative Medicine at Johnson & Johnson, says: “Our results reflect significant impact across our core focus areas of Oncology, Immunology and Neuroscience – where our dedicated teams are translating breakthrough science into meaningful advances for patients.
“These results reflect the quality of our portfolio and our people – the best in the business! With thanks to our teams and partners, I look forward to continuing our impact and improving the health of more and more patients around the world.”
MedTech Strength
Johnson & Johnson’s MedTech division also experienced strong growth with worldwide reported sales up 4.5%, reaching US$8.9bn in total.
J&J MedTech is one of the world's largest medical technology businesses, with nearly 60,000 employees serving more than 275 million patients each year through innovations in surgery, cardiovascular care, orthopaedics and vision.
Growth in Q2 was driven by strong demand across the MedTech portfolio, led by wound closure and biosurgery products in Surgery, electrophysiology and Shockwave technologies in Cardiovascular, contact lenses in Vision, and trauma products in Orthopaedics.
The US$100bn Revenue Goal
Johnson & Johnson’s Q2 results mean the company is on track to become just the second pharmaceutical firm to surpass US$100bn in annual revenue.
Pfizer similarly achieved the milestone in 2022 after a bumper year of Covid vaccine sales.
Commenting on the Q2 results, Joaquin Duato, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Johnson & Johnson, says, âJohnson & Johnson delivered strong second-quarter results, demonstrating the power of our innovation, the depth of our portfolio and the momentum in our pipeline as we advance transformative treatments that address the worldâs toughest health challenges.
âWith raised guidance and quarterly sales surpassing US$25bn, we are on track to meet our 2026 target of more than US$100bn in annual revenue for the first time in our Companyâs 140-year history.â
