Executive change at Danaher

Heathre’s appointment follows Danaher’s announcement on 3 August 2026 that Julie Sawyer Montgomery will take on the role of CEO and President from 1 October 2026 – the same date that Heathre’s tenure as Chief HR Officer begins.

Rainer Blair, who has served as Danaher CEO since 2020, will soon retire from the role but will support the transition as a senior advisor until 31 March 2027.

Julie brings nearly 25 years of healthcare, commercial and R&D experience to the role. She joined Danaher in 2017 at Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, becoming President in 2020 after leading commercial operations and R&D.

She has since held increasingly senior roles, most recently serving as Danaher Executive Vice President and leading its Diagnostics business from 2023. Under her leadership, Diagnostics nearly doubled revenue from around US$6 billion to US$11 billion, while operating profit roughly tripled.
