Leading cloud services provider Cobweb Solutions and Plain Healthcare Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Avia Health Informatics Plc has announced partnership in the development of Odyssey CareAssess Hosted Desktop.

The partnership will provide secure access for multiple residential care homes and health service providers to support the treatment and assessment of elderly residents reduce hospital emergency department referrals and removing the stress related to the residents associated with hospitalization.

The solution enables the care staff to appropriately manage a complete range of unforeseen clinical events. It will also minimize the disruption and costs associated with avoidable GP referrals and emergency admissions to the hospital, and also help in reducing the risk of complaint or litigation.  

Tim Morris, Managing Director at Plain Healthcare said, “Staff working in care homes will be able to better assess residents from any location in the care home as they’’ log into systems remotely.”

Mr. Morris also said, “Security is essential where mobile devices are being usd. Importantly, Cobweb’s Hosted Desktop means no data is retained on the device, a key factor is ensuring patient information remains secure.” Julian Dyer, CEO at Cobweb Solutions said, “With this partnership, care homes benefit from a secure resilient solution without the costs of our expensive IT systems and management teams.”

Mr. Dyer also said, “Cobweb’s Hosted Desktop solution is the perfect fit for our businesses with no IT support and very little system knowledge.”

Cobweb is an application service provider and early adopter of Microsoft Hosted Exchange. The company helps SME, mid-enterprise and channel markets to deliver messaging, collaboration and unified communications to support business efficiency.
