Digital health start-up Healthi raises $3.1mn
Four-year-old digital health start-up Healthi has recently raised $3.1mn. Led by Montane Ventures, the funds will see the company further develop its technologies and build applications to fully drive patient engagement.
Focused on preventative healthcare, the company’s efforts to deliver personalised health prevention packages has seen it cater towards obesity, heart disease, diabetes prevention and much more.
“As spending in the sector increases, prevention will play an increasing role where AI and digital leveraged effectively, can enable that change [from curative to preventive healthcare],” commented Josh Bornstein, partner at Montane Ventures.
Utilising sophisticated data and analytics has made the company a strong choice for businesses to partner with, as well as insurance and healthcare companies. Its growth has also seen it expand to over 150 Indian cities.

“This funding round gives us the confidence and resources to power forward in our mission to empower millions of users to live fuller lives by taking control of their health. The feedback and increasing traction that we have seen to date reinforce our vision that a strong focus on user experience and the right combination of technology and analytics can effectively help users to lead healthy lives,” explained Rekuram Varadharaj and Krishna Ulagaratchagan, founders of Healthi.
“The funds will be used to boot up applications that empower users to understand, engage with and take control of their health and to scale up the go-to-market efforts for the first application that is seeing increasing traction, namely driving engaging health benefits programs for corporate employees and family members,” they added.
Its impressive growth will see the number of users across India rapidly increase, where the company also aims to undertake a number of international pilots.
“The burden of non-communicable disease is on the rise, making preventive health extremely important. Historically, the focus of healthcare in India has mostly been curative in nature. As spending in the sector increases, prevention will play an increasing role where AI and digital leveraged effectively, can enable that change,” noted Josh Bornstein, partner at Montane Ventures.
“Healthi is a game changer. They have developed an innovative digital health platform with significant IP around predictive analytics and personalized engagement, that has applicability in many realms going forward, as already demonstrated by the traction that they have witnessed.”
