Scott Bowers Named COO of Corizon Health
Scott Bowers, prior president and CEO of UnitedHealthcare Community Plan, has been named president and chief operating officer of Corizon Health, it was announced Monday, July 7.
As president and COO, Bowers will be responsible for building a business intelligence function to ensure transparency and accountability, according to a news release issued by Corizon. He will also be leading key management personnel throughout the company.
Corizon, a Brentwood-based company, provides health care services to prisons and other correctional facilities in nearly 30 states in the United States. Most recently, the company was awarded a $100 million contract to provide medical services to the Fresno County Jail.
Bowers brings nearly two decades of health care management experience to the position. His previous positions include President and CEO, United Healthcare of the Mid-Atlantic; President and CEO, Unison Health Plan of Ohio; and Executive Director, Harmony Health Plan of Illinois.
