Bill Adams steps in as CFO of Response Biomedical
Response Biomedical Corporation said its board of directors has appointed Mr. Bill Adams as Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary with effect from August 13, 2012.
The newly appointed CFO and Corporate Secretary will replace Richard Canote. Mr. Canote resigned as the CFO of Response Biomedical but will continue with the company for a certain duration in a consulting capacity.
“We welcome the addition of Bill to the Response management team. Bill’s experience and expertise will allow the company to continue to focus on its stated corporate objective of profitable growth,” said, Mr. Jeffrey Purvin, CEO. He adds, “We thank Rich Canote for his assistance this year in the transaction process.”
Mr. Adams is a Chartered Accountant with more than 20 years of strategic financial management experience in both private and public companies. He was also the CFO for CellFor Inc. CellFor Inc is engaged in manufacturing of tree seedings for forest land owners.
He also held a similar position in a publicly-listed bio-pharmaceutical company AnorMED Inc from its start up through its sale to a U.S-based international bio-pharmaceutical company.
Prior to being part of AnorMED, Mr. Bill was the Chief Financial Officer of a TSX- listed technology company namely Epic Data International Inc. He has also been an audit manager with KPMG.
Mr. Bill holds a Bachelors degree in Commerce from the University of British Columbia.
Response Biomedical is involved in developing, manufacturing and marketing of rapid on-site diagnostic tests for use with its RAMP (R) platform for environmental and clinical applications.
