DIOSynVax is advancing a new frontier in vaccine development, leveraging AI to create broader, longer-lasting protection against evolving viral threats

Vaccines remain one of the most effective tools in modern healthcare, preventing millions of deaths each year and playing a critical role in global public health security.

However, traditional vaccine models often struggle to keep pace with rapidly mutating viruses such as influenza, requiring frequent updates and seasonal reformulations.

As new and re-emerging infectious diseases continue to pose risks worldwide, the need for more adaptive and durable vaccine solutions is becoming increasingly urgent.

A next-generation influenza vaccine

At a recent investor-focused HealthTech event hosted at the London Stock Exchange, DIOSynVax unveiled its next-generation influenza portfolio.

This includes pan-Bird Flu (H5Nx) and supra-seasonal vaccines, both of which have demonstrated safety and efficacy in animal models, including ferrets, and are now ready to progress to human trials.

The company’s approach is designed to generate broad immune responses capable of protecting against multiple virus strains.

Unlike conventional vaccines that target specific variants, DIOSynVax’s technology aims to provide cross-protection against evolving influenza viruses, including those with pandemic potential.

This approach could enable a single vaccination to offer protection across multiple flu seasons, addressing one of the key limitations of current influenza vaccines.

Professor Jonathan Heeney, Chief Scientific Officer of DIOSynVax

“Both Bird Flu and seasonal influenza provide protection from viruses are constantly evolving, and our approach stays ahead of these viruses ensuring robust broadly protective immunity that should protect us longer over time,” says Professor Jonathan Heeney, Chief Scientific Officer of DIOSynVax.

“It is an honor to be invited to present at the London Stock Exchange; acknowledging the importance and advantages of our approach which offers a unique investment opportunity for game-changing human health impacts, providing significant public health benefits from both circulating influenza virus threats as well as those with the potential to cause future pandemics.”

About DIOSynVax

DIOSynVax is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing universal vaccines using advanced artificial intelligence technologies.

Its mission centres on delivering broad-spectrum protection against infectious diseases, particularly emerging viral threats with pandemic potential.

By targeting conserved elements of viruses, the company aims to stay ahead of viral evolution and improve long-term global health resilience.

The role of AI in vaccine innovation

Central to DIOSynVax’s platform is its Digital Immune Optimized Synthetic Vaccine technology, which uses AI to design vaccine antigens.

This enables rapid identification of viral components that can trigger strong and durable immune responses.

By integrating AI into vaccine design, DIOSynVax is working to accelerate development timelines while improving both safety and efficacy.

This data-driven approach represents a significant shift in how vaccines are conceptualised, offering a more proactive strategy for addressing future infectious disease threats.

Dr. Rebecca Kinsley, Chief Operating Officer of DIOSynVax

“Our AI guided approach to vaccines offers clear advantages to other approaches, and with appropriate funding we could accelerate both the Supra-seasonal and pan-Bird Flu vaccines into the clinic to obtain key proof of concept data,” says Dr Rebecca Kinsley, Chief Operating Officer of DIOSynVax.

“This would provide critical momentum as we move towards licensing trials for these highly valued vaccines for Supra-seasonal influenza, pre-pandemic pan-Bird Flu, and ultimately a Universal-type influenza vaccine.”

Dr Ronald Moss, CEO of DIOSynVax, adds: “We are excited to form strategic partnerships and investments to bring these important vaccines quicker to the clinic.

“This is a great opportunity for investment to improve our public health responses against future influenza pandemics.”
