3 November 2026 marked an important day for Pfizer: the pharmaceutical giant reported its Q3 financial performance while confirming that interim Chief Financial Officer Cecile Guegan would take on the position permanently.

The US-based company raised its full-year 2026 revenue and earnings guidance following a strong year-to-date performance, supported by growth across its launched and acquired products and progress in its R&D pipeline.

While overall third-quarter revenues remained relatively flat year-on-year at US$16.6bn, revenue excluding COVID-19 products increased by 7% operationally, with launched and acquired products recording particularly strong growth of 32%.

Pfizer is now targeting annual revenues of US$62bn to US$64bn, up from its previous forecast of US$06.5bn to US$62.5bn.

Albert Bourla, Chair and CEO of Pfizer, struck a positive note in a LinkedIn post announcing the results.

“Our third quarter results show strong momentum. We beat expectations, raised our full year guidance, and grew our launched and acquired products 32% operationally,” he writes.

Albert continues: “What comes next is even more exciting. Science is moving faster than ever, and you can see it in our pipeline across oncology, obesity, inflammation and immunology, and vaccines.”

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals reported strong Q3 earnings on 30 October 2026, with revenues increasing by 36% year-on-year to US$5.1bn.

The results mark the company's third consecutive quarter of double-digit growth in both revenue and non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS). The performance reflects increasing demand across its established medicines portfolio, alongside higher collaboration revenue from its longstanding partnership with Sanofi.

In October 2026, the two pharmaceutical companies agreed to renew and expand their global antibody collaboration, adding four next-generation, long-acting antibodies to their existing alliance.

Christopher Fenimore, Regeneron’s Chief Financial Officer, praised the company’s approach in a LinkedIn post discussing the results.

He writes: “What I'm proudest of is how it came together: focused execution across our teams, steady investment in our science and value delivered for stakeholders along the way.”

A decade after the Paris Agreement set the ambition of limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, the Lancet warns that the health impacts of climate change are accelerating faster than the global response.

Against this backdrop, the Lancet Countdown Report calls for climate change to be recognised as a public health emergency, requiring a globally coordinated, long-term response.

Produced by an international collaboration of 146 researchers and more than 100 institutions, led by University College London (UCL) and developed in strategic collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO), the report tracks global trends across 54 indicators related to climate change and health.

The Lancet Countdown’s annual assessment examines the health impacts of climate change alongside the potential benefits of interventions designed to address it.

Chief among the report’s concerns is the growing toll of extreme heat. Between 2016 and 2023, heat was associated with an average of 540,800 deaths annually, with climate change responsible for 68% of these deaths, up from 55% between 2006 and 2015.

In 2023 alone, heat-related deaths reached a record 710,000, exceeding the annual death toll attributed to malaria or HIV, according to the report.

Alongside its findings, the Lancet Countdown and WHO have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), strengthening collaboration on global monitoring and action addressing health and climate change.

Cancer Research UK is one of the UK's best-known charities, funding research, raising awareness and supporting people affected by cancer.

As part of efforts to strengthen its engagement with supporters and reach more people affected by the disease, the charity has signed a three-year integrated media and creative partnership with British communications and media group WPP.

The agreement will unify services currently delivered by several specialist agencies into a single partnership. WPP's remit will span media, creative, digital, social, data, technology and analytics.

The partnership is intended to help Cancer Research UK develop a more consistent approach to its marketing, using data and technology to better understand its audiences and build longer-term relationships with supporters.

According to Claudia Nicholls-Magielsen, Executive Director of Marketing, Fundraising and Engagement at Cancer Research UK, the ambition is for the charity to “be more relevant to more people more of the time”.

In a LinkedIn post following the announcement, Kate Rowlinson, CEO of WPP UK, writes: “The work CRUK do is both groundbreaking and life extending for thousands of cancer patients and their loved ones across the UK. Being part of this mission to beat cancer is a privilege and we can’t wait to take the work we do to the next level with an integrated team.”

Swedish health tech company Tandem Health and Deutsche Telekom are looking to accelerate European healthcare’s AI transition as the German telecommunications giant invests in the business through its investment arm, T.Capital, as part of its Series B funding round.

The investment, alongside participation from Norrsken VC and LG Technology Ventures, will support Tandem Health's ambition to develop an AI-powered platform for healthcare providers across Europe.

The company's flagship product, an AI medical assistant, brings clinical documentation, medical coding and decision support together in a single platform.

Its technology is already being used across more than 10,000 healthcare facilities in 14 European countries, including Germany, and is integrated with approximately 130 electronic health record (EHR) systems.

The solution is also certified as a Class IIa medical device under the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR), reflecting its clinical credentials.

For Tandem Health, the ambition extends beyond automating individual administrative tasks, with Tandem Health’s Co-Founder and CEO Lukas Saari revealing the company’s lofty ambitions.

"We want to give Europe's healthcare professionals back one billion hours, so physicians and nursing staff can spend less time on paperwork and more time with their patients," he says.

He also emphasised the joint mission shared by both partners in a LinkedIn post discussing the partnership: “We chose them, and they chose us, for the same reason: to accelerate bringing European healthcare into the AI era,” he writes.
