Eli Lilly Partners With Hims & Hers to Expand GLP-1 Access

Demand for obesity drugs continues to rise across the US. According to Gallup, the proportion of adults using GLP-1 treatments in the US has spiralled from 3% in 2024 to 11% in 2026.
Against this backdrop of widespread obesity drug use, Eli Lilly is expanding access to its obesity medicines through an agreement with digital health platform Hims & Hers, bringing two of its FDA-approved treatments to patients seeking care through telehealth.
Announced on 6 November 2026, the agreement will give eligible patients access to Eli Lilly's Zepbound (tirzepatide) and Foundayo (orforglipron) through the Hims & Hers platform.
Patients who receive a prescription from a licensed provider will be able to access the medicines at the same self-pay prices available to other patients, without leaving the platform.
- US$149 – Starting monthly self-pay price for Eli Lilly's oral obesity treatment Foundayo.
- US$299 – Starting monthly self-pay price for injectable obesity treatment Zepbound.
- 11% – Proportion of US adults using GLP-1 medicines for weight loss in 2026, up from 8% in 2025, according to Gallup.
- 37.5% – Year-on-year increase in the proportion of US adults using GLP-1s for weight loss.
- 2 – FDA-approved Eli Lilly obesity treatments being made available through the Hims & Hers platform.
The arrangement creates a more direct route between clinical consultations, prescriptions and medication fulfilment by merging Eli Lilly’s leading GLP-1 portfolio with Hims & Hers' digital infrastructure.
Self-pay prices will start at US$149 per month for Foundayo and US$299 per month for Zepbound, with the medicines shipped directly to patients' homes.
For Eli Lilly, the agreement represents another route to reaching people seeking treatment for obesity, while also placing the firm on equal footing with GLP-1 rival Novo, which has been selling Wegovy and Ozempic injections on the platform since April 2025.
Combining pharmaceutical innovation with digital healthcare
The partnership centres on two medicines offering different approaches to obesity treatment.
Zepbound, which contains tirzepatide, is an injectable prescription medicine used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity to help adults with obesity, or some adults with overweight and weight-related medical conditions, lose weight and maintain that loss.
Foundayo, meanwhile, contains orforglipron and offers an oral, once-daily treatment option. It is a GLP-1 receptor agonist designed to support weight management alongside dietary and lifestyle changes.
The availability of both medicines through Hims & Hers gives patients access to different treatment formats, although prescriptions remain subject to individual clinical assessments.
Ilya Yuffa, Executive Vice President and President, Lilly USA and Global Customer Capabilities at Eli Lilly, says: “At Lilly, we are always looking for new ways to help more people get the medicines they need, and that means meeting patients where they already are.
“Millions of people turn to Hims & Hers for their care, and through this agreement, those patients now have a simple, more direct way to get FDA-approved Lilly medicine at an affordable price if prescribed.”
The arrangement also reflects changing patient expectations around how healthcare is accessed and delivered. Telehealth services have become an increasingly prominent option for people seeking obesity care, particularly as the availability of prescription GLP-1 treatments has expanded.
Building a more connected patient experience
For Hims & Hers, the agreement strengthens its position as a digital healthcare provider connecting patients with clinical services and prescription medicines.
The company's platform is designed to support patients throughout their healthcare journey, from initial enquiries and consultations to treatment planning and follow-up care.
Its weight-loss membership includes 24/7 access to a care team, nutrition guidance, regular clinical check-ins and participation in the Hims & Hers Weight Loss community.
Andrew Dudum, Co-founder and CEO of Hims & Hers, discussed the partnership in a LinkedIn post.
“People deserve to have access to the most innovative treatments. That’s why we work with leaders across the industry, and starting today, that includes Eli Lilly and Company,” he writes.
“When innovators work together, it’s better for everyone. Customers can access more personal care, providers have a well-rounded picture of how their patients are doing, and drugmakers can be confident that the people who need their medications the most will be able to get their hands on it and stick to it.
“Lilly is one of the most innovative companies in the world, and we share a commitment to reaching real people with real impact. Working together means we can combine some of the world’s best medicines with our powerful platform to help more people feel great.”
“Working together means we can combine some of the world’s best medicines with our powerful platform to help more people feel great. ”
An important element of the agreement is the commitment to maintaining independent clinical decision-making. Providers operating through Hims & Hers will continue to determine which treatment is appropriate for each individual, rather than prescribing medicines based on the commercial arrangement.
This distinction is significant in a market where demand for obesity medicines has created increased attention around the availability, sourcing and regulation of treatments.
Providing access to Lilly's FDA-approved products through the platform establishes a direct relationship between the pharmaceutical manufacturer and the digital healthcare provider.
