PreCheck, a background screening provider in the healthcare industry, knows that healthcare professionals are consistently faced with the challenge of having to do more with less time.

Here, they offer six tips on time management to help those in the healthcare HR business work smarter and not harder.

1. Schedule Time For Special Projects

Using either Outlook or Gmail calendar, schedule time to a certain project or task to separate your workflow. Once that time arrives you will be much more committed to completing the task or at least making progress on a larger project.

2. Use Productivity Tools To Stay Organized

There are various productivity apps on both Android and iPhone platforms to choose from. One of the most regarded apps is Evernote that allows you to create a “To-Do” list. From taking notes at a conference to compiling a library of documents, apps such as Evernote allow you to remain productive with ease.

3. Work With Two Computer Screens

Whenever possible, use two computer screens versus one. A study done by the University of Utah found that productivity among people working on editing tasks was higher with two monitors than one. Besides, it makes work that much easier when you have access to two applications side-by-side.

4. Larger Computer Monitors Can Improve Productivity

According to the Grazadio Business Review, there are three ways in which larger computer monitors can improve productivity.

* Increased insight into data – Having the ability to see more information at once can help you see the “big picture.”

* More time for primary tasks – You’ll spend less time moving applications around, scrolling through data, and clicking buttons. According to research results, larger screens offer 90 percent less window management than smaller ones.

* Decreased stress levels and better solutions – Being able to see more of one’s data reduces user stress as this utilizes more external memory and less cognitive memory.

5. Keep Your “To-Do” Lists Open At All Times

Keeping your “To-Do” list open in the background helps you remain focused on your objectives for the day. It also allows you to make adjustments to accommodate for incoming deadlines and serves as a reminder if you have time-sensitive items.

6. Keep Your Email Organized

Try to keep your e-mail inbox empty, or as close as possible, at all times. This way you won’t go through the same email multiple times. Create a folder system based on your needs and file e-mails into them after you have read them. Plus, it will make you feel more in control and less overwhelmed.
