MediSafe Project has announced the launch of its new Prescription Page on its website today, turning its top-rated ‘pillbox app’ into a powerful tool for doctors to increase patients’ medication adherence.

Doctors who visit Doctors.MediSafeProject.com can enter their information with patients’ first names and email addresses, and those patients will receive emails with information about MediSafe Project and the link to download the app. The Prescription Page is SSL secure and all data entered remains private.

The Prescription Page was inspired by a MediSafe Project user, who wrote to the company explaining his doctor had prescribed it to him along with several medications.

“It’s incredibly validating to know doctors believe in MediSafe Project’s effectiveness as a medication reminder enough to prescribe it to their patients,” said co-founder and CEO Omri ‘Bob’ Shor.  “We’re excited to provide them an easy way to join the MediSafe Project ecosystem, and help more people live healthier lives.”

MediSafe Prescription Page Preview

Since launching last November, MediSafe Project has become the top-rated ‘pillbox app’ in the Google Play app store, with an average rating of 4.4 stars (out of 5).  Its iOS counterpart is still in the preview stage, and the company plans to fully update it with all the Android features by July.

The Prescription Page – along with a new feature added to MediSafe Project earlier this month that lets users send personalized medication adherence statistics to their doctors – brings MediSafe Project closer to its vision of being a complete ecosystem of patients, families, doctors, drug stores and pharmaceutical companies to solve the hazardous and costly problem of medication non-adherence.

About MediSafe Project

Inspired by the accidental insulin overdose of the co-founders’ father, MediSafe Project is the first-ever cloud-synced mobile app that not only reminds users when it’s time to take their medication, but also sends their family, friends and caretakers alerts if they miss a dose, leveraging the power of people’s support systems to keep them healthier.  Aggregated patient behavior data, physician trends and other market aspects are available to help pharmaceutical companies better understand how people receive and take their medications.

An alumnus of the Microsoft Accelerator for Windows Azure and honored in 2012 as Microsoft’s BizSpark Startup of the Day, MediSafe Project is the first ecosystem of patients, families, doctors, drug stores and pharmaceutical companies to solve the hazardous and costly problem of medication non-adherence.

Download the MediSafe application from the Google Play and iTunes App Store.
